Who we are

We are a group of women of different cultural backgrounds who are connected in our feminist conviction.

First of all we define feminism by an anti-patriarchy attitude and we think the only chance to overcome this patriarchy is to overcome our society as we know it. For us this means we are not just fighting for national equal rights but against any national boundaries.

Our desire is to connect and support the struggle of FLTI * persons around the world. That is why we call our struggle an internationalist one, even if the word international refers to the concept of nations. However, since we can not overlook the reality of existing nation-states, we use that term despite our fundamental rejection of nation-state organization.

Furthermore we are against the binary construction of gender simply because it’s against the reality of many people. Binary terminology limits and patronizes people in their lives. In our opinion, this is just constructed by society.

Our struggle is also anti-militaristic. We are against the state and its power. So the state does not fight for the people but for profits and for defending its resources. Therefor militarizing society leads to an exercising of power against its own people and other nation states. In this circumstances humans are resources beyond a hierarchical national ideology to defend the monopol of power of the state. Nationalism and militarism are linked to each other!

In the end we have to say that the modern world of capitalism is bonded to mechanisms like exploitation (of workers), racism and sexism (and so much more); and we are against all this!

What we want

Our aim is to create a long-term feminist network through a mutual exchange with FLTI* persons and feminists in general. Furthermore one of our focuses is to inform about feminist fights in Southern Caucasus (means Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) in German and European media. We want to focus on learning from each other to reflect our privileges on the one hand and to broaden a feminist few in southern caucasian public. For us, it is important to understand the struggle worldwide as a fight against patriarchy, which includes anti-capitalism, anti-nationalism and anti-militarism. Even if worldwide feminist fights equal, they are not the same. This apparent contradiction has to be enlighted to unite all these equal, but different struggles around the world!

How we want to achieve our goals

In the first place it is necessary to get in verbal contact with south caucasian FLTI* activists here in Germany to narrow down the subject of the discussion, as well as to understand it theoretically. Therefor we need to write a questionnaire beforehand and teach us theoretically about struggles in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. Nevertheless this theoretical work is never fixed, it always changes through our work in the field, through our learning and understanding. It is important for us not only to remain in the theoretical discussion, but also to work out, discuss and carry out practical ideas together with the activists. So the biggest part of our project will be an exchange to Southern Caucasia in which we will ask questions, get into contact, will have long talks and interesting experiences. We will visit cities as well as rural areas and hopefully, in the end, we have made a first step to broaden international feminist solidarity.
